How did my volunteering start?

From the very first volunteer task… Fundraising, addressing the needs of military personnel, and individuals requiring evacuation. Friends emerged alongside – sincere and genuine. Most importantly, the circle of friends kept growing.

This became the highest value for me, one that stays with me forever. The world turned upside down for everyone, and people united, making the impossible possible. Achievements before society are not crucial in my story. My highest value is my friends who became friends from the beginning of the war, every person who reached out to me from different corners of Ukraine and the world, trusting and helping.

All these collective efforts became significant help and support for civilians and military personnel. This work is not for the sake of recognition, thanks, or praise. The most important thing for them is to come to the aid and do everything necessary for the benefit of those in need.

How it all began

There is a war in the country. Everyone faced a choice: where to go, run away from death.

We chose a different path – to take action, to defend our homeland. Without any military or medical experience, volunteering became our way.

We received guidance from a Volunteer (with a capital V), Yulia Tolmachova, who gave us our first clear task, and that’s how it all began. Simple messages in messengers, quick calls with information about what needs to be collected, purchased, and delivered for the first victims who were coming to us.

So began the unity, support, and continuous assistance to each other for the benefit of people and defenders. With friends, we started raising funds and purchasing everything needed for displaced persons and equipping those who were going to defend the country.

The desire to help, quick response, and the inability to act otherwise gave us the opportunity to be where we are needed. To stand side by side and take difficult steps on the path to victory right now!

Our team

We joined forces to be useful, to help and protect

This is the story of true friends, people without masks, real sons and daughters of Ukraine.

The most important thing is not the organization we founded, not the projects that started thanks to volunteering, and not various achievements in front of society; these are not important at all in my story. My highest value is my friends, who became such from the beginning of the war, everyone who found me from different corners of Ukraine and the world.

Those who trusted and helped, and all these efforts became a great help and support for civilians and military personnel. The coolest thing is that none of them is interested in recognition or receiving thanks and praise for it. The most important thing for them is to come to the aid and do everything required for the benefit of everyone who needs it from us.

At the same time, they are getting acquainted with the volunteers and incredibly special individuals from the Aid Headquarters of Zhytomyr and StarLife. A close collaboration with them is established for the production of bulletproof vests, procurement of military equipment, and comprehensive assistance, including medical supplies, humanitarian aid, international logistics, and anything that could be conceived to help.

The suffering of people and the understanding that every effort is needed to save as many lives as possible provided a tremendous amount of strength and an unstoppable drive. Further connections were made with the cherished international organization “People in Need” and the Center for Social Development “Mist.” With them came continuous assistance to affected individuals and an even greater expansion of responsibilities, fostering strong friendships with incredible people.
