The Training and Resource Center (TRC) in Nizhyn was established by the NGO “In Touch Ukraine Foundation” in 2024 with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) at the Nizhyn Vocational Medical College.

About the Center
The Training and Resource Center is a space for learning and professional development for specialists who support families with young children, ensuring they receive high-quality assistance from the very first days of a child’s life. We work on implementing the “Care from Birth at Home” program in Ukraine, which enables every family to access essential information and care.
It is one of sixteen such centers (as of March 2026) that form the network of training and resource centers in Ukraine.
What We Do
- Train nurses, medical workers, and other specialists in modern methods of supporting families
- Provide high-quality training, workshops, and practical sessions
- Promote effective approaches to early childhood development, breastfeeding, and responsible parenting
- Inform parents about child care and home-based support
Who We Support
Within the home visiting model, specialists trained at the center provide assistance to families with children from birth to three years old. This means every family can receive:
- Advice on child care and development
- Consultations on breastfeeding, nutrition, and infant safety
- Psycho-emotional support for parents
- Assistance in adapting to parenthood and strengthening parenting skills
Why It Matters
The first 1,000 days of life lay the foundation for a child’s future development. Timely support for parents helps ensure healthy child growth, strengthens family bonds, and creates a foundation for a happy future.
