11 children in the Zhytomyr region received 17 hearing aids as part of the cross-sectoral project of the NGO “NPO “In Touch Ukraine Foundation”” with the support of the UNICEF

On February 22, 11 children in the Zhytomyr region received 17 hearing aids as part of the cross-sectoral project of the NGO “NPO “In Touch Ukraine Foundation”” with the support of the UNICEF.

“The most priority direction of our work is supporting children. Every child has the right to be healthy, learn, live a normal life, regardless of the situation in the country. Every family with children deserves support. In the project, we focus all our efforts on supporting children and their families in such areas as health care, education, social protection, development, and leisure,” says the head of the cross-sectoral project of the NGO “NPO “In Touch Ukraine Foundation”” Margarita Siranchuk.

There is a need to provide children with hearing aids in the Zhytomyr region. More than 350 children are registered in the regional phoniatrician’s office of the Municipal Institution “Zhytomyr Regional Clinical Hospital” in the registry of children with hearing impairments who require cochlear implantation and with hearing loss of III-IV degree.

Today, thanks to the partnership of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, UNICEF, and the implementing partner of the foundation in the Zhytomyr region, the NGO “NPO “In Touch Ukraine Foundation”” handed over 17 hearing aids for 11 children. Hearing aids were received by children from the following communities:

  • Chernyahivska,
  • Berezivska,
  • Olevska,
  • Zhytomyrska,
  • Popilnyanska,
  • Zvyahelska,
  • Chudnivska,
  • Berdychivska.

All children who received hearing aids have the opportunity to seek advice from the hearing prosthetics center “Everything for the Ear.” The project coordinator expresses gratitude to the head of the health care department of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration in the direction of “Pediatric Surdology,” Roman Mudrak, for supporting the children.

Within the cross-sectoral project, this is the second delivery of hearing aids for children in the Zhytomyr region. In September of last year, 16 hearing aids were received by children from the Zhytomyrska, Olevska city, Brusylivska, Irshanska, Romenska, Chernyahivska settlement, Barashivska, Hlybochytska, Kurnenska, Chyzhivska territorial communities.

Since the beginning of the war, UNICEF has been actively providing assistance to the Zhytomyr region. In the summer, a Memorandum of Cooperation and Interaction was signed between UNICEF and the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration. This agreement officially launched the cooperation program across the entire region. The Zhytomyr region was the first among the regions where a similar strategic cooperation plan was signed.
