Mobile Medical Teams (MMTs) in the Zhytomyr region continue to provide essential healthcare services to residents of remote villages. As part of the “Restoring Access to Medical Services” project, MMTs visit three communities in the region, delivering medical and social-psychological support to the population.
Project Extended Until February 2025
“We continue to coordinate the work of the mobile medical teams in the Zhytomyr region. The project has been extended until February next year. From October to February, MMTs will provide medical assistance and psychological consultations in the Narodychi, Slovechansk, and Olevsk communities,” says MMT coordinator Anastasia Batyreva.
Importance of Timely Diagnostics
The war has had a significant impact on the health of every Ukrainian, but people with non-communicable diseases are particularly affected. These include cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and hearing loss. These conditions can lead to severe complications if not diagnosed and treated in time.
During MMT visits, screenings for these diseases are available. In addition, healthcare specialists conduct diagnostic tests for blood glucose levels, cholesterol, blood oxygen, and perform ECGs and ultrasounds. They also provide hearing and vision tests. Psychologists offer consultations to anyone in need.

All MMT services are free of charge.
