Psychological Support Available in Three Communities of Zhytomyr Region: Locations

There are 12 psychological support spaces operating in the villages of Narodychi, Slovechansk, and Olevsk communities in the Zhytomyr region. These are equipped spaces with technical facilities and an administrator who registers visitors for online consultations with psychologists.

How Does It Work?

Residents of these communities can visit a psychological support space. The administrator schedules a convenient time for both the client and the psychologist, then arranges an online session. This allows individuals to speak with a psychologist privately and comfortably within the space. The rooms are equipped with necessary furniture and computer equipment.

All consultations are free and confidential. After the session, the psychologist provides feedback to the space administrator, indicating whether the person may need a series of online sessions to address their issues. Depending on the complexity of the situation, this could be a one-time consultation or multiple sessions.

        Project Extension

“Psychological support spaces in the Zhytomyr region began operating in June as part of the project. The project has now been extended, and we will continue to provide these services until February. We have seen how crucial psychological support is for people during this time, especially in villages where direct access to a psychologist is unavailable. Many people are on the verge of exhaustion, experiencing constant anxiety, fear for the lives and health of loved ones, and sleep disorders. Psychological support helps individuals find stability, learn self-soothing techniques, and gain a new perspective on certain situations or actions,” says Anna Ryaboy, the coordinator of psychological support spaces in Zhytomyr.

        Results

In June and July, more than 400 local residents from the Narodychi, Slovechansk, and Olevsk communities sought psychological support. All received individual consultations from psychologists.
