In Touch Ukraine Foundation Participates in National Conference on the Implementation of the Universal-Progressive Model of Home Visits

In Touch Ukraine Foundation participated in the national conference on the implementation of the universal-progressive model of home visits, organized by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) UNICEF Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

💬“We are delighted to be present at this expert event. The conference brought together 200 participants offline and nearly 800 participants online, including healthcare professionals, practicing doctors, experts in health and early childhood development,” said Margarita Sirančuk, project and program manager at In Touch Ukraine Foundation.

Universal-Progressive Model

This strategy supports every child’s right to comprehensive development and well-being. The strategy recognizes the vital importance of providing effective assistance to children from conception until they reach the age of three, ensuring optimal growth during the first 1,000 days👩‍🍼.

💙Within the framework of the universal-progressive model of home visits, trained nurses under the guidance of pediatricians and family doctors provide a package of services that promote the child’s development. This strengthens the capabilities and confidence of caregivers, parents, and families in providing positive upbringing, supporting well-being, and mental health of caregivers. By creating strong relationships and providing individualized assistance, the home visit model aims to improve family functioning and reduce risk factors. It contributes to positive health and developmental outcomes for children in early childhood.

Activities of In Touch Ukraine Foundation

In Zhytomyr, In Touch Ukraine Foundation conducted training for nurses and pediatricians on the universal-progressive model, establishing the first training and resource center in Ukraine for implementing this home visit model at the Zhytomyr Medical Institute with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). We continue to work in this direction and are preparing to create and equip 12 training and resource centers in Ukraine at specialized medical educational institutions and/or Primary Health Care Centers.

💛We are convinced that every child has the right to be born and grow up in conditions that promote their development and health!
