Our Mission and Goals: Ensuring that every child receives proper care

The “Care from Birth at Home” Program is designed to provide comprehensive support to families with children from birth to 3 years old. Our goal is to ensure early detection of health issues, support the physical, emotional, and social development of children, and promote the creation of a safe and nurturing family environment.

Implementation History in Ukraine:
In 2022, we launched a pilot project in Zhytomyr region, which became the starting point for expanding this model to other regions. The initial results and feedback from participating medical institutions were overwhelmingly positive, driving further development. In 2023, UNICEF announced a public call for medical institutions to join the project.

ℹ️ As part of the project “Implementation of the Universal-Progressive Home Visiting Model and Integrated Child-Centered Medical Services at the Local Level in Selected Regions of Ukraine,” supported by UNICEF Ukraine.

As of today, The “Care from Birth at Home” Program is being implemented in 16 regions of Ukraine.

During home visits to pregnant women and families with children aged 0 to 3 years, the patronage nurse can:

  • Understand the living environment and situation of the child and family.
  • Assess whether the child’s basic needs (care, nutrition, safety, love, communication) are met.
  • Determine the type and level of support the family needs for the child’s healthy development and safety (social, legal, psychological, pedagogical, medical).
  • Intervene early to support the child’s health and development.
