Created 10 Child-Safe Spaces (Children’s Spaces TOGETHER) in the Territorial Communities of the Zhytomyr Region: Providing Psychosocial and Other Services According to Needs
🌈 Our project is a response to the challenges of the present. We create effective and child-friendly alternatives for school and preschool education, offering a space for play and child development. 🌈
✨ What we offer for children and parents:
🎓 Non-formal education and developmental activities for children.
🤝 Information and advisory support for parents.
👩⚕️ Consultations from a mobile team of a doctor, psychologist, and social worker.
🌐 Assistance in addressing various social issues.
🏡 Children’s Spaces “TOGETHER” – a safe space for children where we take care of the comprehensive development of the child, providing necessary support. Joint actions: Involvement of Partners and Support for Target Groups
Our spaces have become a venue for active participation of partners and various target groups.
Representatives of local self-government bodies, including social protection departments, children’s services, medical workers, social workers, psychologists, and employees of the Popasna Center for working with children with disabilities, have joined our spaces.
Within the project, more than 20 NGOs from the Zhytomyr region have joined our spaces, carrying out various activities at the locations. Collaboration with NGOs expands the opportunities for providing support and meeting the needs of our target groups – children, parents, and families with children.
Together, we are building a space where each target group can find the necessary support and resources.

We are pleased to announce that 8 out of 10 TOGETHER Children’s Spaces have been created in collaboration with the NGO IN TOUCH Ukraine! In collaboration with another partner of the Children’s Fund of the UN (UNICEF), we are successfully implementing 2 more initiatives.

Main Tasks of TOGETHER Points:
Identification and Response to Needs: Experts and administrators of the points interact with families, identifying and responding to their needs through psychosocial support and, if necessary, case management.
Target Audience: Special attention is given to families in difficult life circumstances, families with children with disabilities, large families, as well as those who have suffered from violence.
Humanitarian Aid: Provision of humanitarian aid in the form of clothing, diapers, hygiene products, and other necessities.
Infrastructure and Provision: Office and Children’s Equipment: Each point has received the necessary equipment, including furniture, laptops, printers, and more.
Educational and Creative Materials: Materials for creative and educational activities were purchased to ensure a variety of activities.
Branding and Informational Support: All locations were branded and equipped with informational materials to raise community awareness.
Staff and Professional Development: Administrators have undergone training and certification in areas such as PSEA, Ethics in Evidence Generation, and have participated in webinars and meetings on UNICEF policies.
Each employee is familiar with and has signed the Code of Conduct at the Children’s TOGETHER Point.
Children’s TOGETHER Points: Promoting Development and Safety for Children in Challenging Conditions
Administrators of Children’s TOGETHER Points play a key role in ensuring activities that not only promote development but also create cross-sectoral connections within the project. These spaces serve not only as centers for social services but also as platforms for a wide range of events.
Psychosocial Services: Administrators ensure the provision of psychosocial services, including psychological counseling and first aid for children and adults. Consultations with social workers on available social services and referrals for children with disabilities and other vulnerable groups are also conducted.
Work with Families and Referrals: Administrators interact with families with children, identifying their needs and promptly referring them to state and non-governmental organizations for appropriate services. A “Referral Handbook” is used for quick response to visitor requests.
Medical and Educational Services: Medical services are provided at TOGETHER Children’s Points, including consultations with pediatricians and vaccinations for children and adults. Educational events, such as school readiness classes and interactive sessions on hygiene skills, are also conducted.
Creative Workshops and Physical Activities: Creative workshops, art therapy, and active and sports games are organized for children of different ages, contributing to their physical and creative development.
Healthy Lifestyle and Nutrition: Sessions on the basics of a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition are conducted. Children receive useful knowledge that contributes to their physical and emotional well-being.
Collaboration and Social Connection: Children’s TOGETHER Points help establish cross-sectoral connections in the project, promoting the integration of different directions and providing social services that support children and their families.
Conclusion: The work of administrators at Children’s TOGETHER Points is defined not only by providing services but also by creating a safe and development-friendly environment for children facing challenging life conditions. These points become an essential link in the system of support and development for children in the face of social challenges and crises.

🏡 From October 1, 2023, all 8 of our Children’s points already belong to and operate under the wings of local communities and communal institutions. We fulfill our obligations under the signed Agreements on further cooperation, transferring our resources and energy for the development of territories where we are located.
