In 570 schools, activities are being conducted according to the EORE standards, providing psycho-social support and using educational and game formats. In just the first quarter of implementing the cross-sectoral project by In Touch Ukraine Foundation with the support of UNICEF Ukraine, many activities have already been carried out, and material-technical support has been provided to educational institutions in the Zhytomyr region. The following are the results, ongoing activities, and plans for further implementation.
For general education and preschool institutions in Zhytomyr:
🟡107 “School in a Box” kits have been sent.
🟡573 laptops for teachers to support the learning process.
🟡30 shelters.
🟡318 group sets for individual and team sports.
🟡100 hygiene kits.
💬”We also support teachers who organize ‘catch-up’ classes for children who, for certain reasons, are lagging behind the curriculum. They work with them to ‘catch up,’ help them master the educational material for a particular subject if a child missed it, for example, due to illness. In Touch Ukraine Foundation already collaborates with 403 teachers who conduct additional classes in Ukrainian language, mathematics, and primary education,” said Margarita Siranchuk, the head of the cross-sectoral project.
🔷School teachers and psychologists still have the opportunity to join this program by following this link:
🔷A similar program has already started for preschool education workers. Therefore, there is an opportunity to register to join the large-scale educational project in the region with the support of UNICEF:
💛Additionally, three mobile educational teams created within the framework of the In Touch Ukraine Foundation project with the support of UNICEF are traveling to the most remote settlements. Each meeting of a mobile educational team with students is a unique educational journey with the following stops:
🟡”Mine Safety” station;
🟡”Educational” station (developmental activities in academic subjects: Ukrainian language, mathematics, history of Ukraine, biology, etc.);
🟡”Creative/Psychological” station.
Mobile educational teams have already visited 22 communities in the Zhytomyr region. They continue to conduct interactive educational sessions for children to cover all communities.
💙Next year, 17 STEM hubs will be opened in Zhytomyr. Equipment purchases for STEM laboratories are currently underway. Educational hubs, which will soon operate in 10 communities in the region, are also in the procurement stage. These educational locations will be accessible to all students, not just specific educational institutions.
We keep working.
