In Touch Ukraine Foundation, supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) UNICEF UkraineUNICEF in Ukraine announces a contest for communities in Zhytomyr region to establish educational hubs “Together to Learn.”
The plan is to equip 10 educational spaces in Zhytomyr communities to facilitate children’s access to education in settlements affected by military actions, schools with no internet access, difficult transportation, and those unable to resume children’s education due to proximity to the border with Belarus or have chosen a distance learning format due to the inability to provide shelter. The key goal is to create modern educational spaces where children can gain new knowledge and skills with the support of qualified teachers who have undergone relevant courses, as well as involve psychologists and correctional educators in the work.
As part of the project, UNICEF will provide:
🔹 Essential furniture;
🔹 Computer equipment;
🔹 Educational and play materials.
In addition, the In Touch Ukraine Foundation will ensure regular visits by mobile groups of teachers and child psychologists to conduct interactive sessions with children.
Priority for hosting spaces will be given to communities in Zhytomyr region where schools are absent or destroyed due to military actions or are unable to resume education this year. To apply for space placement, representatives of local self-government authorities need to fill out the form at the following link.
It is important that the community, on its part, can provide a sheltered room for the educational space. We care about the safety of children, so we plan to place educational spaces only in premises that meet
the following parameters:
🔹 Availability of shelter capable of accommodating a group of 15 children simultaneously in accordance with the requirements of the educational process organization and epidemic prevention requirements;
🔹 Heated during the heating season, equipped with heating or alternative heating of the shelter;
🔹 The community is ready to participate in the project implementation and provide transportation for children to educational spaces.
Applications are accepted until 18:00 on October 3, 2022. The results of the contest will be announced in October 2022 on the official pages of the public organization “IN TOUCH UKRAINE FOUNDATION.”
