Implementation of the Universally Progressive Home Visit Model
On March 27-28, the In Touch Ukraine Foundation conducted a training session for social workers and patronage nurses on “Implementing Interaction Models of the Universally Progressive Home Visit Model and Social Services for Families with Children Aged 0 to 3 Years.” The event was attended by 28 representatives from six communities in the Zhytomyr region.
Purpose of the Training
The main goal of the event was to familiarize and unite the efforts of social workers and medical professionals to provide quality services to families with children. Participants of the training learned more about:
- The specifics of the work of social workers and patronage nurses;
- The specifics of working in local communities;
- The specifics of providing services to families with children aged 0 to 3 years;
- The features of the universally progressive home visit model for families with children aged 0 to 3 years;
- Providing social and psychological services to such families.
Collaboration of Specialists
Nurses and social workers will work together to provide better services within the framework of the “Minimum Package of Integrated Social Services for Families with Children” project, which is being implemented in the Zhytomyr region. The communities involved in the project are:
- Zhytomyr
- Zvyagel
- Korosten
- Olevsk
- Andrushivka
- Khoroshiv
Focus of Work
The primary focus of the specialists is on the early identification of families with children who are in difficult life circumstances and at risk of falling into such conditions. Organizing the provision of a complex of social and medical services to these families is a key task.

The project is being implemented by UNICEF Ukraine with the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development through the German Development Bank (KFW). It is carried out in partnership with:

- SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine
- NGO “Social Synergy”
- Ukrainian Educational Platform
The In Touch Ukraine Foundation is carrying out special activities within this project, particularly organizing the collaboration of social workers and medical professionals to ensure better care for every child.
