Specialized Services for Children with Disabilities and Their Parents/Caregivers. Relocation of Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities

🌟 Changing Lives Together!

During the armed conflict in Ukraine, cities that developed social service systems fell under occupation. Our response to this challenging situation: support for the municipal enterprise “Popasna Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities” of the Luhansk Regional Council.

💙 Our actions include relocating the rehabilitation center for children with disabilities that fell under occupation due to the war in Ukraine. We cover accommodation expenses, purchase equipment and rehabilitation services, and provide transportation for visits to communities in the Zhytomyr region, where we support children with disabilities. 🤝 Additionally, we organize the payment of services by professionals and cover utility expenses. We also purchase equipment for the effective functioning of the center and provide transportation for visits to communities in the Zhytomyr region.

🏠 Currently, the Center has received free premises from the Zhytomyr Regional Council and equipment for working with children with disabilities. Our team of specialists works towards social adaptation, conducting sessions for children with disabilities in Zhytomyr and its surroundings.

❗️ All sessions conducted by “Lelka” are free!

Therefore, individuals with disabilities have the opportunity to contact the Center and receive professional assistance and necessary rehabilitation services.

🤗 Thank you for making the world better for children with disabilities! 💙

Changes for Those in Need: In the scope of our activities for children with disabilities in the region, the following initiatives have been implemented:

Expanding Opportunities: Additional equipment has been purchased for the Multifunctional Rehabilitation Center for Children of the Baranivska City Council and the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities “Source of Hope” of the Korosten City Council. Users recorded: 44 children with disabilities.

Restoration and Support: Supported the Korosten Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center, which suffered from flooding, by providing equipment for repair and restoration.

Exchange of Resources: Part of the purchased equipment was transferred to the Zhytomyr City Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities to support the new UNICEF project “early intervention.”

Together, we create convenience and provide new opportunities!

Partnerships and Shared Goals! In our initiative to provide activities for children with disabilities, we have joined forces with several partners:

  • Collaborated with the municipal enterprise “Popasna Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities ‘Lelka’ of the Luhansk Regional Council.”
  • Conducted a free summer camp for children with disabilities in collaboration with Caritas, where professionals, funded by our project, provided services at the suburban center.
  • Developed early intervention services in Zhytomyr with the participation of the Zhytomyr City Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities.
  • Expanded the network of partners with rehabilitation centers in the region, allowing effective response to emergency situations, such as the case with the Korosten Rehabilitation Center.
  • Collaboration with city and village councils and representatives of territorial communities helped balance offers and demands for services for children with disabilities.

Our target group includes families with children with disabilities, the children themselves, and the center’s professionals. Together, we create change and provide support!

Our achievements in implementing positive changes:

✨ Thanks to the purchase of additional equipment for the Zhytomyr City Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center, we supported the UNICEF initiative and developed a project for early intervention for children, providing additional arrangement of spaces and more.

🤝 The mobile service in communities with children with disabilities allowed us to start a dialogue on service development between municipal partners.

🚀 Visits to communities in the region allowed us to assess satisfaction with services and interact with communities.

🌟 The project provided a unique free service for social adaptation for children and youth in Zhytomyr, implemented at a high level.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parents attending the centers, supported by UNICEF, received an additional package of free services, such as counseling from psychologists, support in humanitarian case management, medical support, and more. Together, we are changing lives for the better! 💙
